At Terneuzen Hotels, we are committed to making our websites as accessible to as many people as possible. That means we aim to make our websites usable for everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use.

Compliance with the European Accessibility Act

We recognise our responsibilities under the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which requires that many digital services and products within the EU be accessible to all users by 28 June 2025.

The EAA aims to improve equal access to digital services for people with disabilities across the European Union. In line with this, we are committed to ensuring our websites meet the required standards.

While we are already substantially compliant, we remain committed to fully meeting the EAA’s requirements and will continue to make accessibility a key part of our ongoing development and content practices.

Where We Fall Short

Currently, we do not yet meet the following WCAG criteria:

Text Alternatives & Labels: Some images, icons, and form fields may lack appropriate text alternatives or clear labels, affecting screen reader users.
Visual & Structural Clarity: Information conveyed visually (e.g., form groupings, tables, or colour cues) may not always be programmatically clear or accessible.
Keyboard Navigation: Not all content is fully operable via keyboard, and some elements may trap focus or lack visible focus indicators.
Content Order & Focus: Reading and focus order may not always follow a logical or meaningful sequence, which can impact navigation.
Contrast & Scaling: Some text and visual elements may not meet minimum contrast requirements or may not reflow properly when resized or zoomed.
Form Usability: Errors in forms may not be clearly identified or explained, and users may be asked to re-enter information unnecessarily.
Consistent Identification: Similar elements may not be identified consistently, and some interactive components may not be fully recognized by assistive technologies.

What We’re Doing About It

We are working with accessibility specialists and developers to improve the usability of our websites. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we are actively making updates based on audits, feedback, and evolving standards.
